Matteo van der Grijn Biography
Matteo van der Grijn who was born on February 23, 1981, in Amsterdam, is a Dutch actor. He is the son of the actor Wim van der Grijn and actress Diane Lensink and also a grandson of Ton Lensink and Henny Orri.
He is fluent in Italian and he lived almost all his childhood in Vernazza, a tiny mountain village in Italy, where his mother rented holiday homes to acquaintances from the Dutch theater world until her death in 2012 and cooked for her guests. Aside from living in Italy, he is fluent in Italian.

Matteo van der Grijn Career
Van der Grijn attended the Arnhem Theater School and during his studies, he performed regularly with De Theatercompagnie, including in Hamlet (2002) and Driekoningenavond, both directed by Theu Boermans. He played the role of the twin brothers Edwin and Robin Kuijpers in ‘Moord op de middenstip’ of the television series Baantjer in 2005. He graduated in 2007 and at the end of 2007, he played with Her Nationale Toneel in De Levende Doden.
Van der Grijn attended a workshop for actors in Los Angeles for several months and in 2009, he played the role of Frederik, the brother of King Willem II in De Troon. In 2011, he played the role of Arthur van Liempt in an episode of the drama series Hart Tegen Hard. From November 2011, he also played in Midsummer Night Dream of the National Theater under the direction of The Boermans. He performed at the National Theater under the direction of Johan Doesburg in De Pooi from March 6 – June 9, 2012. He once again played the role of Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema in the musical Soldaat van Oranje from October 1, 2012, to July 2014. In 2013, he appeared in the film Daglicht, in which he played a sociotherapist. In 2014, he starred in the movie Tuscan Wedding, by the makers of Infatuated with Ibiza. He also starred as Scottie in the television series New Neighbors.
Van der Grijn also starred in the 2014/2015 theater season, playing the role of Daan together with Soldaat van Oranje. He got a role as Sam Zwart in the television series The Men of Doctor Anne in 2016 and 2017, he played the role of kickboxer) bodyguard André in the film Gets Verlangen. In 2018, Van der Grijn was featured in the film Banker of the Resistance.
