Out of 500 kids who were reportedly auditioned by Director Ivan Kavanagh for the role of David in SON, Luke was the chosen one. While preparing for the movie SON, he studied medical videos of people having grand mal seizures in order to make his physicality more believable.
Luke pleaded with his parents to let him start auditioning for 6 months before they finally agreed.
Luke was asked to improvise a scene with Judd Apatow during his audition for The King of Staten Island. He mentioned a comic book character that he made up when he was 5 years old and it was called “Iceflash”. An improvisation was done around that and Judd liked it so much that they asked Luke if they could write Iceflash into the story.
