Leona Winter was born on March 20, 1995, in Ceret, south of France, she is of Spanish heritage. At the age of 8, she started taking dance classes and at the age of 9, she started singing classes at Arles-sur-Tech where her family is from. At the age of 12, she started to take theater classes and at the age of 17, she started doing drag at seventeen. She resided in Barcelona before participating in The Switch

In 2017, Leona Winter was the winner of the Miss Continental prelim pageant, Miss Europe Continental in 2017. She also won the Miss Latina Continental prelim in 2018.
In March 2018, Leona Winter appeared as one of fifteen contestants for the second season of The Switch. On July 16, 2018, she was announced the winner of the season, after beating Pavel Arámbula, Sofía Camará, and Gia Gunn.
