Craig Kelly Biography
Kelly was born on October 31, 1970, in Lytham, St Annes near Blackpool, Lancashire. His brother, Dean Lennox Kelly, is an actor.
Kelly has a keen interest in Kickboxing and he has a black belt from it. As of 2009, Kelly had been training in the sport for 10 years.
Kelly moved to London and there, he attended the Drama Centre from 1989 – 1992, where he studied the Stanislavsky School of method acting alongside John Simm and Joe Duttine.

Upon graduation in 1992, Kelly played a minor speaking role in Titanic as Assistant Wireless Operator, Harold Bride. He also played Russell Muir in the film “When Saturday Comes”.
Kelly’s role as Vince Tyler in Queer as Folk made him famous and he won serious critical acclaim and also gained a plethora of new fans. Kelly has featured in many TV shows including Casualty (1995 – 1996), The Grimleys, The Children of the New Forest (1998 BBC series).
Kelly starred as a guest in the third series of the BBC’s Waking the Dead and here, he played the role of a cross-dresser who is released from prison on appeal for murdering his father.
In November 2008, Kelly played the role of the new underworld factory boss, Luke Strong, in ITV’s Coronation Street.
It was announced on August 25, 2009, that Kelly would take part in Series 7 of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, partnering with Flavia Cacace. He was eliminated from the competition on November 7, 2009, in a special show from Blackpool Tower Ballroom as the 8th celebrity. Kelly and his brother starred in the ITV1 drama Collision and it was aired over five consecutive nights in November 2009.
Aside from TV shows, Kelly has also starred in many films including “The Young Americans (1993)”, “Titanic (1997)”, “Spiceworld”, where he played a minor speaking role, and “Wing Commander”, where he played a small role.
Kelly’s vocal talent has been heard on many adverts, BBC idents and more recently on Channel 4 idents. He has starred as a voice-over artist for Channel 4’s 4OD on-demand service and the ITV catch-up service. Kelly also starred as a narrator for various television programs including Channel 4’s Shipwrecked: Battle of the Islands (2006 – 2009), E4’s Shipwrecked: The Island 2011 (2s narration on Sally Morgan’s Star Psychic Show, as well as series 6 of The Real Hustle on BBC Three (a show his brother narrated for two series)). He has voiced Shipping Wars UK on Channel 4.
Kelly is currently the station voice for Manchester’s Key 103. He also voiced a 2014 advert for Nutella.
