Blake started his music career with a guitar player, Enrique Lara. On August 1, 2016, Blake, alongside Enrique Lara formed Kin Cayo; a tropical post-punk indie pop/rock music band. Chris Kapica, a keyboardist, and Mike Torres, a bass guitarist, later joined the duo to form a four-piece band they named Ghost Lion.

In November 2016, the band released its debut EP titled Dim Echo. Later, they released singles like Broken Glass, Way Up, and Wolves which were all well received by their fans for having soothing messages on love and friendship in addition to its beachy vibe which exudes positive energy. Ghost Lion, under Blake’s leadership, went on to release more musical works, one of which is their best-known production to date.

In January 2017, the band released a freedom-themed song with a bouncy melody titled Shot the Sun Down. This was followed by their EP Ballad of St. Panama which had 4 singles in it viz: Ballad of St. Panama, Wrong Guy, Broken Glass, and Our Ship. “Wrong Guy” was made into an eponymous music video which turned out to be well received by their fans.
