Englert was born on August 15, 1994, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The Australian actress is 27 years old. She is the daughter of Australia-based New Zealand director, Jane Campion, and an Australian filmmaker, Colin David Englert.
Englert was raised in Sydney and also on locations where her mother’s work took the family. In her words, she said “I’ve spent half of my life on planes. I have a lot of love for New Zealand, though. That is where the real arty, whimsical side of the family resided – in hobbit land.”
Englert attended schools in New York City, London, New Zealand, Rome, and Australia, one of them being Sibford School, a boarding school in Oxfordshire, England. Her parents got divorced when she was seven and she made her film debut at the age of eight in Listen and at the age of 12, she made another film debut with her mother’s short film “The Water Diary”. As a poet and singer, Englert’s self-penned song “Needle and Thread” was used in the film, Beautiful Creatures. In an interview, Englert stated that she “recorded (“Needle and Thread”) in the bathroom of the apartment I was staying in the warehouse district of New Orleans.” She also had a role in 2020’s ‘Ratched’ on Netflix
